Rules:
- Be consistent, courteous, safe & reliable.
- Communicate with customer regularly and document in writing all requests made by the customer. You must fill out an extras sheet any time you do anything extra above and beyond the normal contract specifications. Failure to do so will result in you being charged for the services performed.
- Read & understand the contract. Each job has different job requirements and it is very important for the foreman to fully understand each contract individually. If you perform extra services that we cannot bill for you will be liable for the time and materials used on that job.
- Foreman is responsible for everything the crew does, does not do, and all equipment.
- Keep all valves & sprinklers in operating condition.
- Don’t let the extra work from one job prevent your crew from doing the regular maintenance.
- Inspect all parts of property upon arrival to prioritize necessary work, and again when departing to make sure the final clean up was finished and all tools and equipment are properly stored on the truck and trailer.
- Keep a journal or notes about what needs to be done from week to week.
- Give the customers what they pay for!
- Document our completed work and communicate to office, take pictures.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean, and secure.
- Make sure all workers start the day in clean uniform and NO personal hats.
- Clean, sharpen blades, change filters, vacuum, pressure wash, change oil, and maintain the equipment at least once a week.
- Foreman is responsible for making sure the entire crew operates with gloves, eye protection, and ear plugs. Foreman is also responsible for the proper training and safe operation of equipment by all laborers.
- All equipment in and on the truck and trailer are the foreman’s responsibility at all times. Any equipment lost or damaged do to negligence will be subject to repayment by the employees responsible.
- Any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment must be reported to supervisor immediately by phone, and in writing by the same day. This report should document the entire incident, and the employees involved.
- Before operation of any vehicle the foreman must do a visual inspection of all fluids, tires, lights, and safety equipment. Also the Foremen must check truck regularly for current up to date required papers and equipment such as proof of INS, current registration, MSDS sheets, spill cleanup kits, safety cones, and first aid kits.
- No one except the foreman or designated insured driver will operate the truck. No Exceptions.
- Any accident or work related injury will result in immediate drug and alcohol testing. Any positive test results will result in non coverage of injuries and damage.
- No smoking at any job sites, in or around the equipment, or while fueling at the gas station.
- No personal items are allowed in the vehicle except lunch and a jacket.
- No eating or drinking in the truck.
- Foreman is responsible for filling the appropriate amount of water and ice during morning gas fill up to last the entire day.
- No stopping the truck for snacks, lunch, drinks, or any other personal reasons.
- The truck and equipment must be left in good clean operational condition at the end of each day ready for use the next day. If not working, hand over to the supervisor for repairs or replacement.
- Foreman is responsible for keeping all sprinkler systems operational on the jobs at all times. Any minor repairs such as drip lines, bubblers, sprinkler heads, or broken risers should be documented and fixed immediately. Any major repairs needed should be reported your supervisor for approval and repaired as soon as possible, and approved by customer. All repairs must be documented on an extra sheet and handed in the same day. This documentation is critical to us being able to charge for the repairs. Failure to document repairs will result in you having to pay for them.
- Foreman must document any and all materials used on the job sites such as fertilizer, chemicals, sprinkler parts, gopher bait, etc.
- Foreman will not allow the employees to go in any unauthorized areas at any job sits or remove any unauthorized materials from the job sites.
- Employees are not allowed to use fowl or abusive language or say anything rude or disrespectful to woman or any customers.
- Foreman is responsible for the neat, clean, healthy appearance of all job sites.
- Foreman or driver is responsible to follow all traffic and safety requirements of all city, state, and federal laws and obligations. Any failure to do so could result in your immediate termination, and repayment of any fines.
Priorities:
- Start every job with a comprehensive plan to address all aspects of the contract
- Start from the ground up (spray all weeds at every job every week)
- No spraying weeds bigger than a quarter.
- Pull all weeds out of shrubs or shovel all weeds bigger than a quarter.
- Dead bushes are the same as weeds, remove them.
- Everyone must multi task and do more than one job at once.
- Mow guy must mow , weed eat, check sprinklers and blow while at the same time reporting back to foreman about and possible timer issues ( brown or dry grass).
- Trim at every job every week, the entire job should be trimmed within one month.
- While trimming, you must also trim suckers, remove trash, and pull weeds from that area.
- Start at a different part of the bigger properties every week.
- After each month the entire property should have been trimmed.
- There is always room for improvement!
